Thanks to contributor #48796369 Floyd Iwanski, 75, of Ord died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at his home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord with the Rev. Jim Warner officiating. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery with military rites by the Ord Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m., with a rosary and Christian wake service at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at Ord Memorial Chapel. Mr. Iwanski was born on Aug. 14, 1923, on the family farm near Elyria to James and Katherine (Kusek) Iwanski. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Ord High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Navy from March 23, 1945, to June 28, 1946. He married Marie Rysavy on June 20, 1949, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at Ord. They farmed for more than 40 years at Elyria. They moved to Ord in 1988, but Mr. Iwanski continued to farm. He enjoyed farming, fishing, bowling, dancing and playing cards. He worked as a member of the VFW at Ord and the WFLA No. 432. He had also worked as a field reporter for the Farm Service Agency at Ord. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Tim of Grand Island, Richard of Brigham City, Utah, David and Steven, both of Elyria, and Donald of Ord; three daughters, Dianne Marie and Theresa Beale, both of Milton, Fla., and Pauline Hahn of Aurora; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Irwin Iwanski of Stockton, Kan.; and three sisters, Iryne Kapustka and Evelyn Paprocki, both of Elyria, and Betty Briggs of Vallejo, Calif. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Rysavy. The Grand Island Independent, Jan. 5, 1999
