Marie A. Iwanski, 80, of Ord. died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at her home in Ord. Marie was born Sept. 13, 1930, in Valley County, near Arcadia to Joseph F. and Mary M. (Zabloudil) Rysavy. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Iwanski. Survivors are: sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas of Columbus, Richard and Cheryl of Brigham City, Utah, David and Sharon of Elyria, Donald of Ord and Steven and Pam of California; daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne Marie of Ord, Theresa and LeRoy Beale of Williamsburg, Va., and Pauline and Randy Hahn of Aurora; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Marie was raised in Ord, where she received her education and graduated from Ord High School in 1948. On June 20, 1949, Marie was united in marriage to Floyd James Iwanski at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. The couple lived and farmed northeast of Elyria for over 40 years. In 1988, they moved into Ord. Marie worked as a secretary for St. Mary's School for 19 years. Mr. Iwanski passed away on Jan. 2, 1999. Marie continued to make her home in Ord until her passing. Marie was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she was involved in the altar society. She belonged to WFLA 437, Memory Stitchers Quilting Club and Mid-Nebraska ARC and was a volunteer for Valley County Hospice. Marie enjoyed square dancing, crocheting, quilting, gardening, playing cards and being a volunteer. Marie was also preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Paul, William and Joseph Rysavy. Burial was in the Ord Catholic Cemetery, Ord, NE.
