Bio

Abigail Smith came to Texas in 1832 with her parents, Abner and Rebecca Smith. Her father was one of the first Primitive Baptist ministers to move to Texas. She met and married her husband, Jesse Bardin in 1845 in LaGrange, Fayette Co., Texas. After his death in 1869, she moved to Llano, Texas to be near her children, and married Cummings Burleson. She and Cummings established the Valley Spring Primitive Baptist Church, in Llano Co., Texas.
