Bio

Anton George Svoboda 78 the son of Joseph F.M.and Stella (Karmazin) Svoboda was born Jan 2,1920, on the farm near Deweese, NE. where he resided his entire life. He died Nov.28 1998 at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, NE. He attended Star school and Deweese Public school. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Nelson. On Oct. 18, 1949, he and Mildred Drudik were married in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence. Together they farmed and raised three children. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mildred, of the home; sons: Robert, Lincoln,Neb.,Ron,Kenesaw, and daughter, Mrs. Dennis Hilderbrand (Marlene), Grand Island, five grandchildren; brother, Irvin Svoboda,Deweese, and sister. Julie Svoboda, Hastings. Services were Tuesday from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence, with Father Dennis Hunt and Father Frank Machovec officiating. Interment was in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery near Lawrence. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson, was in charge of the arrangements.
