Bio

Son of Wayne & Maude (Lloyd) Evans. Grew up in Custer County; graduated from Mason City High School, 1955. Taught school in Comstock for one year Military: entered U.S. Army, 1956; served for two years Worked at Baldwin Manufacturing. Married: April 27, 1962, to Ann Chandler in Elm Creek. Worked for the Nogg Paper Company in Omaha, 1972-1994; was an outside salesman with the company; retired in 1994 due to the onset of Huntington's disease. Activities: member of First Christian Church and Kearney Eagles Lodge 2722; was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife; son, Jeffrey of Kearney; daughter, Jennifer Dankert of Kearney; brothers, Calvin of Ansley, Dean of Columbus and Roger of Omaha; and sisters, Georgia Fread of Pleasanton, Carol Ditson of Kearney, Karen Hostetler of Cairo and Phyllis Zadina of Kenesaw; also granddaughters, Jessica and her mother Brenda, Megan Huffman and Taylor and Jamie, all of Kearney; daughter-in-law, Darla of Kearney; son-in-law, Neil Dankert of Kearney; and sisters-in-law, Eline of Litchfield, Barbara of Kearney and Frances of Ansley. Was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Susan, in 1966, four brothers and three sisters.
