Herald Coaster, August 29, 1999: Funeral services for Lenard J. Fajkus, 74, of Beasley, will be held on Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, at 2 p.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Beasley, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. A rosary service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 28, at 8 p.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Father Henry Rachunek will officiate the services. Lenard was born May 11, 1925 in Wallis, Texas to John R. Fajkus and Carrie Chalupa Fajkus. He passed away Aug. 26, 1999 at his home in Beasley. He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Beasley. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the VFW Post 3903 in Rosenberg and the American Legion Post 271 in Rosenberg. He is preceded in death by his children, Harry Michael and Georgie Lynn Fajkus; parents, John R. and Carrie Fajkus; and brothers, Simon, Sylvester, and Daniel Fajkus. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lillie Novosad Fajkus of Beasley; daughters, Rosalie Chernohorsky and husband, Daniel "Cherry", of East Bernard, and Alice Ann Divin and husband, Jerry, of Waller; sons, Harvey Fajkus and wife, Carrie, of Katy and Leonard John Fajkus of Beasley; grandchildren, Charles and Sarah Chernohorsky of East Bernard, Amy Fowler and husband, Cory, of Conroe, and Amanda Divin of Austin; sisters, Caroline Bergen and husband, Frank, of Rosenberg, Martha Viktorin and husband, Johnny, of East Bernard, and Mollie Barta of East Bernard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A special thanks for Doctor Lopez-Roman and all the hospital nurses from the hospice center in El Campo for all their support and help during our dad's illness. Pallbearers are Daniel Chernohorsky, Jerry Divin, Cory Fowler, Charles Chenohorsky, Darryl Fajkus, Carroll Fajkus, Rodney Fajkus, and Larry Fajkus. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church Building Fund or Medshares Hospice, 1102 North Mechanic, Suite B. El Campo, Texas 77437.
