BAY CITY - Leona Socha Kocurek, 95, of Bay City, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003. She was born Oct. 27, 1907, in Taiton, to the late Adolph Donald and Beatrice Amanda Chambless Socha. She was a homemaker and a member of Church of Christ. Survivors: daughters, Vera F. Clements and Flo Gentry Dreher, both of Bay City, and Thelma Gelber of Wharton; sisters, Louise Pointer and Lillian Graham, both of Bay City, Velma Clements of Santa Fe and Jane Wendt of Sargent; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: husband, Louis Frank Kocurek; daughter, Ruby Lucille Shawler; and grandson, Lee Frank Gentry. The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. tonight at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home chapel. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, the Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Burial will be at Cedarvale Cemetery. Taylor Bros.
