Bio

Arline Slocum, 82, of Kearney died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Litchfield Cemetery with the Rev. Shawn Kitzing officiating. She was born Oct. 10, 1930, in Dawson County to Hippolite and Lucille (Johnson) LeDroit. On July 15, 1961, she married Marvin Slocum. He preceded her in death. Survivors include hers sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Diane Hoffman of Loup City and Greg and Pam Hoffman of Ravenna; daughter and son-in-law, Kevin and Brenda Malsbury of Aurora; 10 grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Elaine Kratzer of Litchfield. She graduated from Sumner High School. She and Marvin made their home in the Broken Bow then Litchfield areas. She owned and operated Marv's Bar in Litchfield and a day-care center in Kearney. She enjoyed fishing and her family. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five sons and sister, Pauline. Published in Kearney Hub on June 7, 2013
