Married John Puetz on January 8, 1906 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Luxemburg, Butler County, Nebr. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' Albion News , March 22, 1978, p. 6, col. 7 & 8 Elizabeth Puetz Elizabeth M. Puetz was born March 9, 1887 to Peter and Mary (Mackel) Birkel of David City. She died at the Wolf Memorial Home in Albion on March 17, 1978. She received her education in rural David City schools and married John Puetz on January 8, 1906 at David City. The couple lived in David City for six years then moved to the Primrose area for the next 30 years. She has resided in Albion for the past 30 years. She is survived by her son, William Puetz of Sioux City, Iowa and her daughter, Mrs. Agnes Meysenburg of Albion; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion on March 20. Father Henry Schorn and Father Harold Birkel were the officiating clergy. Pallbearers were Gerald Birkel, Dan Meysenburg, Eugene Meysenburg, Pat Stump, Clarence Birkel and Bill Meysenburg. Interment was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at David City. ''''''''''''''''' The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), March 23, 1978, p. 17, col. 5 & 6 Mrs. John Puetz Funeral Services Conducted Monday Funeral services for Mrs. John (Elizabeth Birkel) Puetz, 91, were held Monday morning at St. Michael's Catholic Church at Albion. Officiating were Fathers Henry Schorn and Harold Birkel. Mrs. Puetz was born March 9, 1887, on a farm near David City and died March 17, 1978. On Jan. 8, 1906, she was married to John Puetz at Presentation Parish, Marietta. They lived in the area before moving to Albion. Pallbearers were Clarence Birkel, Jerold Birkel, Pat Stump, and Dan, Eugene and Bill Meysenburg. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery at David City with Father Birkel officiating. She was preceded in death by her husband and four children. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Agnes Meysenburg of Albion; one son, Bill Puetz of Sioux City, Iowa; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Relatives from Omaha, Columbus, Cedar Rapids, Petersburg, Shelby, Bellwood, and David City attended.
