Published in the Ord Quiz, Ord, Nebraska, Thursday, April 3, 1975, Page 6, Column 1 Methodist Rites For James Sich Funeral services were Friday for James Anton Sich who died March 25, 1975 at Valley county hospital. He was 85. The Rev. Ron Roemmich officiated at the 2:00 pm rites at the United Methodist Church in Ord. Burial was in the Ord Bohemian Cemetery. Concluding services were by Mr. Jim Rejda of the ZCBJ Lodge #161. James Anton Sich was born September 16, 1889 in Novasidla, Czechoslovakia, the son of Anton and Mary Hruska Sich. He came to this country on October 10, 1908 at the age of 19, where he was engaged in farming in Valley County. He was united in marriage to Rosie Masin on April 10, 1917 at the country home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Masin, Sr. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary in 1967. James retired from farming in 1959 at the age of 70. Survivors include his wife, Rosie of Ord; three sons, Leonard of North Loup, Robert and Jim, both of Ord; two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Hosek of Arcadia and Mrs. Lorraine Richards of Bloomington, IN; 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son Lumir, two grandsons, five brothers and one sister.
