Fort Bend Herald, December 21, 2009: Funeral services for Sylvia C. Matheaus, 94, of Beasley, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2009 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in the Stateroom of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Sylvia was born January 18, 1915 in Moravia to John and Sophie Chudej. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Beasley. Sylvia enjoyed reading, traveling, sewing and doing embroidery work. She passed away December 19, 2009 in Richmond, Texas. Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Matheaus; parents, John and Sophie Chudej; son, Elgene Matheaus; grandsons, Alan Dwayne Matheaus and Ben Matheaus, Jr.; and siblings, Sonny Chudej, Emma Sykora, Willie Mae Preuss, Henrietta Dobesh, Georgie Sbrusch and Edna Webb. She is survived by sons, Gerald Matheaus and wife, Judy, Ben Matheaus and wife, Linda; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Matheaus; grandchildren, Curtis Matheaus, Robin Eileen Vrana and husband, Rudy, Allyson Pluskota, Mendi Matheaus and Tuesday Blair Matheaus; great grandchildren, Nathan Matheaus, Chad Vrana, Brett Orsak and husband, Ronald, Jr., Samantha Vrana, Hannah Borski and Hayden Borski; great-great grandchildren, Mason Vrana, Raegan Orsak and Benjamin Orsak; sister, Irene Raska; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
