Bio

Herald Coaster, April 16, 1970: Funeral services for Mrs. Tekla A. Sunderhuse, 71, of Rosenberg, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday in the Garmany & Co. Funeral Home Chapel in Rosenberg, with the Rev. Richard C. Mumme officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Sunderhuse died at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday in Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Welcome, she was a resident of Fort Bend County since 1930. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Gladys Miller of Michigan, Mrs. Teckla Heugel, Mrs. Elvera Tielke, and Mrs. Willie Mae Nesvadba, all of Rosenberg, and Mrs. Kathleen Kovarek of Port Lavaca; sons, Harold Sunderhuse of California, Clemence Sunderhuse of Rosenberg, Denis Sunderhuse of Richmond, and Clifford Sunderhuse of Austin; three sisters, Mrs. Nelda Thielemann of Beasley, Mrs. Lena Wensel of Bleiblerville, and Mrs. Erna Allen of Dallas; a brother, Manford Albert of Houston; and 28 grandchildren; one great-grandson. Mrs. Sunderhuse was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Gilbert, during the past year.
