OBITUARY George Stewart, 85, passed away June 13 at 4:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alvin Dyer near Osceola,MO. He was born near Genoa, WI, September 14, 1864. At the age of 16 he, with his parents, moved to St. Paul, Nebraska. He was married to Lou Ella Hull March 15, 1893 at Ord, Nebraska. She preceded him in death on January 16, 1911. He came with his family in 1919 to Osceola where he lived until death. To this union two children were born, Robert, of Lewis, Iowa, and Mabel, of the home. Also surviving are two brothers, Mark, of Omaha, Nebraska, Chauncey, of Dannebrog, Nebraska, and one sister, Mary Warne, of St. Paul, Nebraska. Funeral services were held from the Goodrich Chapel on June 15, Rev. Albert Gaston officiating. George was laid to rest by the side of his wife in the cemetery at Craig, Nebraska. St. Clair County Courier, Thu, 22 Jun 1950, page 1. [Note 1: George's parents were enumerated in Bloomfield township in Waltham County, Wis., in 1870. There is a small village of Genoa in Bloomfield township. This place should not be confused with the village of Genoa in Vernon county, Wis. Note 2: The birth year of 1864 in this obituary matches with his age on most census records. The year on the gravestone (1863) is likely incorrect.]
