Mildred Bernice Hansen, 83, of Grand Island died Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Beverly Lakeview Nursing Home in Grand Island. Services will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 11 at Kleine Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Allen Runyon officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Dane Lutheran Cemetery in Webster County at 4:00 p.m. Mrs. Hansen was born April 7, 1922 on the family farm near Guide Rock, NE the daughter of Sherman and Nora M. Redden Shipman. She grew up in the Garfield Precinct of Webster County and received her education at District 36 School. Mildred married Ralph Harris on August 31, 1940. He preceded her in death on February 23, 1955. On August 15, 1963 she married Robert Carrol Hansen at Red Cloud, NE. They lived and farmed in Webster County until moving to Greeley County in 1975 where they ranched near Spalding, NE. Mildred was a homemaker and worked on their ranch. She was employed for a time at Spalding Livestock. In 1996 she and Robert retired and moved to Grand Island. Mildred Moved to Beverly Lakeview Nursing Home in 2002 due to failing health. Mildred was a member of the Grand Island Family Church of Grand Island. She was a past member of the Dane Lutheran Church, Work and Chatter Club, and the Red Cloud Saddle Club in Webster County. Survivors are one step-daughter Dorothy (Harris) Shane of Colorado Springs, Colorado, one daughter Marlene (Harris) and Husband Bill Ruth of Del City, Oklahoma, Three sons; William Clayton Harris and Linda Stobart, Ronald Eugene and wife Deanie, both of Holstein, Nebraska, Michael LeRoy Harris and wife Bernice of Grand Island, Nebraska, one sister, Hazel V. Koch of Lebanon, Kansas, one step-grandson, 10 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson. Preceding her in death was one Grandson, Cory Eugene Harris, two brothers, Elwin and Floyd Shipman, three sisters, Marvel Howell, Erma Mullennex, and Opal Harris.
