Tommy Barker, 69 May 23, 2001 Tommy Morris Barker of Fairlie died Sunday in Commerce. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pemberton Funeral Home. Burial is in Sonora Cemetery in Fairlie. Barker was born Aug. 5, 1931, in Fairlie, the son of James Franklin and Maude Barker. He married Nelda Julian Williams on Sept. 1, 1990. Barker retired from Foremost/Schepps Dairy in Dallas after 43 years of service. He was a deacon and a member of Fairlie Baptist Church; also serving as a treasurer and pianist. He was a Past Master of Tannehill Masonic Lodge No. 52, AF & AM, a member of Commerce Masonic Lodge No. 439 AF & AM, member of Hella Dallas Shrine Temple and Past Patron of Bluebonnet Buckner Chapter No. 888, O.E.S. Surviving are his wife of Fairlie; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and John Boggs of Geneva, Switzerland; step-daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Barry Smith of Alabaster, Ala., and Judy and Curtis Hightower of Pottsboro; sisters, Uralee Farell of Fairlie, Lucille Lloyd of Garland and Maureen Stepter of Dallas; brothers, Allen Barker of Sulphur Springs, Hollis Barker of Longview and Roy Dale Barker of Fairlie; and grandchildren, Colin, Graham and Evan Boggs of Geneva, Switzerland; Alison, Mallory and Andrew Hightower of Pottsboro; and Brandon, Devin, Michael and Laurel Smith of Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gladys Barker and Lilas Barker; brother, Harold Barker; and former wife, Patricia Rowe Barker. Pallbearers are Bob Barker, Mike Barker, Steve Barker, Danny Farell, Jim Lloyd and John Lloyd. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Lee Farell, Billy Julian, Dicky Julian, Mike Crowell, Second McQueary, John McKibben and Weldon Wilson. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
