Herald Coaster, April 3, 1991: Funeral services for Herman B. Christ, 69, of Richmond, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Mr. Christ was born Feb. 11, 1922 in Needville. He died April 2 at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital in Richmond. He was a member of the VFW and a veteran of WWII. Mr. Christ is survived by his wife, Bernice Christ, of Richmond. Other survivors include his daughters, Kathleen Christ of Houston, Jeanie Brewton of Richmond, and Janie Costable of San Antonio; son, Rick Christ of Eagle Lake; sisters, Nolce Kobbelen of Boling, Loralee Horak of Old Ocean, and Vallie Urbanek of Richmond; brothers, Richard Christ of Richmond, Allen Christ of Rosenberg, and Pete Christ of Guy; and six grandchildren. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at Davis Chapel in Needville. Pallbearers will be Albert Urbanek Jr., Bobby Christ, Richard Christ Jr., Jerry Jenkins, Rodney Elster, and John Ripple. Services are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
