Bio

Herald Coaster, August 26, 1997: Funeral services for Leo John Linke, 94, of Richmond, will be held on Thurs., Aug. 28, at 10 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Radio Lane and Ave. I in Rosenberg, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Officiating will be the Rev. John Willmann. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. on Wed., Aug. 27, in the Stateroom of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. (FM-2218 and Hwy. 59), in Rosenberg. He married Hilda Hill on Nov. 10, 1927 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bellville. They moved to Fort Bend County in Nov. of 1928. He was a Charter Member of Peace Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda, in 1996; son-in-law, Herman Christ in 1991; four sisters; and three brothers. He is survived by a son, Nelson A. Linke and his wife, Geraldine, of Rosenberg; a daughter, Bernice Christ of Richmond; grandchildren, Kathleen Christ of Houston, Rick Christ and his wife, Debbie, of Eagle Lake, Cynthia Jenkins and her husband, Jerry, of Seguin, Jeanie Brewton and her husband, Bill, of Richmond, and Janie Costabile and her husband, Mike, of Lake Hills; great-grandchildren, Amanda and Chelsea Jenkins of Seguin, Jennifer and Jamie Christ of Eagle Lake, Kyle and Angela Costabile of Lake Hills, and Christie and Christopher Brewton of Richmond; a brother, Adolph Linke of Bloomington; and a sister-in-law, Nettie Linke of Brenham. Pallbearers are Ricky W. Christ, Bill Brewton, Jerry Jenkins, Mike Costabile, Albert Boxkemper, and Albert Lee Linke. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. (281) 341-8800.
