Published in The Donley County Leader & The Clarendon News, New Series-Volume 44, No. 21, Clarendon, Donley County, Texas, Thursday, June 7, 1973, Page 1) Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Phy, sister of Mrs. Reuben Rountree of Howardwick, were held Tuesday morning, June 5, 1973, in the First Baptist Church of Wellington, Texas. The Rev. C.R. Hankins, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Reverend Ted Savage officiated. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas with graveside rites at 3 p.m. Mrs. Phy died Sunday evening, June 3, in Wellington Nursing Center. She was an Amarillo resident for 30 years before moving some months ago. Prior to going to the Wellington Nursing home she was a patient at Medical Center Nursing Home in Clarendon, Tx. She had many fiends in this area having visited here and having also been a patient at Medical Center Nursing Home. Mrs. Phy, 56, was a native of Abilene, Texas. She was a licensed vocational nurse at Southwest Osteopathic Hospital in Amarillo and a member of Buchanan Street Baptist Church in Amarillo. Her husband, J.H. Phy, died in 1972. Surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Shelly Yates of Elk City, Oklahoma, Mrs. Cicero Gulley of Wellington, Tx. Mrs. R.H. Rountree of Howardwick, and Mrs. Hollis Rainey of Atoka, Oklahoma.
