Married - At the church of the the Sacred Heart Monday Feb. 27, 1911, Miss Eugenia Murphy and Royce J. Jeffres, Rev. Flanigan, officiating. The bride wore a dainty white embroidered dress trimmed with insertions of baby irish lace. She wore a large white picture hat and carried white car nations. Her sister, Miss Alice E Murphy was maid of honor and was attired in lavender batiste trimmed in bladk(sic) velvet and wore a black picture hat. The groom and his best man Thomas Murphy wore conventional black. After the ceremony the bridal party and the immediate relatives repaired(sic) to the home of the bride's parents Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Murphy, where at 8:30 a delibious(sic) two course breakfast was served. Mrs. Jeffres had been teaching for the past two years in the rural schools with a considerable degree of success Mr. Jeffres is an industrious and enterprising young farmer who has prepared a nice little home on his farm north west of Greeley. Here he and his bride will begin keeping house when they return the latter part of this month from their wedding trip on which they started Monday morning, intending to go to Ft. Worth, Texas and other southern points. Scottsbluff (Nebraska) Daily Star-Herald, Tuesday, March 12, 1963, pg 5 Deaths Funeral Notices Royce W. Jeffres BAYARD - Royce W. Jeffres, 78, of Bayard, died at his home Sunday morning. He was born Oct. 25, 1884 in Greeley, Neb. He was married Feb. 27, 1911 in Greeley to Eugenia Murphy. They moved to Broadwater in 1918, and later moved to a farm near Bridgeport. They moved to Bayard in 1958 when they retired. Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Eugenia Walker of Bayard and Mrs. Florence Belden of Ovid, Colo.; four sons, Gerard and J. L. both of Bayard, Lawrence(sic) of Caldwell, Idaho and Gerald of Burbank, Calif.; three brothers, Earl of Riverton, Wyo., Leo of Grand Island and Edgar of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and 13 grandchildren and 13 great-granchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bayard, with Rev. James Kemeier officiating. Burial will be in the Bayard Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at the Plummer Funeral Home at 4 p.m. today. A memorial has been established to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
