Rosary for Cora Lee Kitten, 85, of Slaton will be 7 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2010 in Englunds Chapel. Resurrection Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 6, 2010 in Slaton's St. Joseph Catholic Church with Msgr. Nicolas Rendon and Deacon Darris Linder officiating with burial in Englewood Cemetery and under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Cora Lee passed away September 2, 2010 in Amarillo. She was born in Lindsay, Texas on December 27, 1924. She moved with her family to Slaton in 1937. Cora Lee married Norbert Kitten on June 2, 1941. Some of Cora Lee's favorite pastimes were gardening, quilting and spending time with her family. After raising her own children, she provided childcare in her home for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Louise Herrick, Margaret Utley and Rita Cartwright; and brothers, Richard Neu and Herb Neu. Her survivors include her children, Judy and Harold Walkup of Beaverton, Ore., Mike and Phillis Kitten of Silver City, N.M., Kathryn and Ron Nelzen of Oregon City, Ore., Gordon and Adria Kitten and Donald and Gina Kitten, all of Lubbock, Bill Kitten, Stanley and Susan Kitten and Bob and Tanya Kitten, all of Slaton, Veronica and Dennis Brooks of Amarillo and Carrie and Kerry Sarchet of Shallowater; her sisters, Lucille Grabber of McKinney, Marie Macha of Marlin and Alice Hampton of Granbury, along with 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
