Mrs. Stackhouse Succumbs at 89 The Homer Enterprise March 1, 1963 Homer –CC—Mrs. Rosetta Stackhouse, 89, died at 5:30 a.m. Feb. 27 in Burnham Hospital where she had been a patient a week. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. March 1 in the Morehouse Funeral Home with Rev. William J. Edmunds of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in GAR Cemetery. Visitation was to be during the afternoon and evening of Feb. 28. Mrs. Stackhouse was born April 17, 1873, in Clark County, a daughter of Monterville and Rachel Melton. She married Daniel E. Stackhouse Dec. 17, 1896, in Clark County. He preceded her in death in October, 1953. A resident of Homer since 1909, she was a member of the homer Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors of America. She leaves 2 daughters, Mrs. Grace Butler and Mrs. Bernice Hill, both of Homer, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was the last of 9 children. (transcribed by Homer Historical Society)
