Clyde Lloyd L. Lockaby 75, of Abilene died Friday at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2013, at the Bailey-Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Burtis Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Eula Cemetery under the direction of Bailey-Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Lloyd was born September 16, 1937 in Velma, Oklahoma to Charlie and Naomi (Bunch) Lockaby and attended Velma High School. He married Gwenda Patton McCartney in Baird on February 14, 2012. Lloyd retired as a truck driver for Farrah Manufacturing in El Paso. He came to Clyde from El Paso in 1983 where he started ranching and training horses. He loved calf roping where he roped as the header and heeler. He was a member of the Baptist church. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Gwenda Lockaby of Abilene; one son, Charlie Lockaby and wife Darla of Aransas Pass; four step-sons including Chris McCartney of Abilene, and Ricky Ables and wife Jana of Clyde; two brothers, Fred Lockaby and wife Alice of Clyde and Jack Lockaby of Alvarado; two sisters, Joyce Blevins of Granbury and Jeraline Jeffcoat of Tolar; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Stella Spurgeon and Reba Dodson Ables; and his son, Eugene Lockaby.
