Bio

Monteville "Mont" Theodore Stratton, born 27 Mar 1861 in Ballard Co, was the second of four children born to Alexander Mosby Stratton and Mildred A. Willingham Stratton. Mont Stratton married Mary Elizabeth "Mollie" McGary on Jul 4, 1882, at the home of Mollie's parents in Ballard Co, KY. They were married by T. H. Pease, the Baptist minister at Zoar Baptist Church. Mont then stayed in Ballard Co. when his parents and siblings moved to Texas in the early 1880s (probably 1884). Mont died at 66 years of age, on a Sunday morning (Oct 30, 1927) at his home in Lone Oak, KY. His death was the result of a prolonged illness of pneumonia and complications with bronchitis. He was buried on Nov 1, 1927, at Mount Kenton Cemetery in Lone Oak. He was a native of Carlisle Co, but had lived at Lone Oak for the last 14 years. He had been ill for the last four or five weeks before his death. He was survived by his widow, Mollie, one son, Ernest of Ziegler, IL, and two daughters, Ruby Stuart and Mattie King (of Detroit).
