Bio

Carl Filbert DIGHTON - Car) Filbert, 86, died Aug. 18, 1991, at Kennewick Life Care Center, Kennewick, Wash. He was born Sept. 2, 1904, in Ness County, the son of August and Elizabeth Pinecker Filbert. A graduate of the University of Kansas, Lawrence, he attended graduate school at the University of Illinois. A former Dighton resident, moving to Kennewick, Wash., in 1984, he was a farmer-stockman and a railroad water chemist. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, having served as a past church board member and Sunday school teacher, belonged to the Lane County Farm Bureau, was a past member of the Lane County Soil Conservation Board and served on the board of the First National Bank from 1938 to 1963, all at Dighton. On March 26, 1933, he married Asalee Glenn at Little Rock, Ark. She survives. Other survivors include: three sons, Robert, Kennewick, Wash., John, Corvallis, Ore., and Kennard, Canyon City, Ore.; two daughters, Dr. Carolyn Sue Morgan, Middletown, Ohio, and Karen Prose, Kennewick, Wash.; one brother, John, Dighton; two sisters, Pauline Kleweno, Dodge City, and Dorothy Ely, Bazine; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Dighton, with the Rev. Paul Irwin presiding. Burial will be in the Dighton Memorial Cemetery, Dighton.
