Bio

John Filbert DIGHTON - John Filbert, 87, died March 23, 1994, at Lane County Long Term Care Unit, Dighton. He was born Oct. 12, 1906, in Ness County, the son of August and Elizabeth Pinecker Filbert. A Lane County resident since 1951, moving from Bazine, he was a farmer. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Dighton, and a Sunday School teacher for many years. On March 13, 1927, he married Mollie Foos at Bazine. She died May 28, 1989. Survivors include: two sisters, Pauline Kleweno, Dodge City, and Dorothy Ely, Bazine; two grandchildren, Ronald Filbert, Northglenn, Colo., and Sheryl Hargrave, San Andreas, Calif.; and four greatgrandchildren. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church, Dighton, with the Rev. Barbara Snell presiding. Burial will be in the Dighton Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Lane County Long Term Care Unit in care of Boomhower Funeral Home, Dighton. Hutchinson News March 25, 1994
