*************************************************** Dorothy Elizabeth Ely Dorothy Elizabeth Ely, 84, died June 22, 2000, at Hospice Residential Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born May 24, 1916, at Bazine, the daughter of August and Elizabeth Pennicker Filbert. A Hutchinson resident since 1945, moving from Bazine, she was a homemaker. She belonged to First Baptist Church, Bazine. On May 14, 1938, she married Galen Lee Ely at Bazine. He survives. Other survivors include: two daughters, Judith Lee Jordan, Hugoton, and Diane Jane Schwartz, Hutchinson; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Bazine Cemetery, with Daryl Filbert presiding. The casket will be open from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City. Memorials may be sent to the Reno County Hospice or to the Hutchinson area Cancer Support Group, both in care of the funeral home.
