Bio

LEBANON — Eric Vorderstrasse, 85, died Friday. He was born in Chester, Neb., and moved to Oregon in 1936. He married Vivian in 1938, lived in Albany and moved to Lebanon in 1942. He moved to the Sodaville area in 1947. He retired from Champion International in 1978. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and enjoyed the outdoors and reading westerns novels. He was a Trail Blazers fan. Survivors include his wife; sons, Ronald of Lebanon, Darrel of Seattle, Terry and Steven, both of Portland, and Jon of Salem; daughters, Dyann Kliewer of Lebanon, Deloris and Susan Vorderstrasse, both of Salem; brothers, Gary of Lebanon and Emmet of Alexandria, Va.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Private interment will be in Lebanon IOOF Cemetery. Contributions: church or Lebanon Community Hospital Hospice in care of Huston-Jost Funeral Home.
