Bio

Ernest Casper Vorderstrasse, 74, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry K. Vorderstrasse, was born on the 9th day of Nov. 1899, at Nelson, Nebr. He was the oldest of ten children. He grew up in Chester, Nebr., where he received his education and was married on June 13, 1926 to Louise M. Neanhiser. They moved to Twin Falls, Ida., where he worked on a sheep ranch until they came to Albany, Oregon in 1937. He was employed by the Simpson Lumber Co., until 1960, and then for Brand S. Plywood until his retirement in 1967. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Albany. He is survived by his wife, Louise of Albany; two sons, Roger of Portland, Ore., and Kasper of Reno, Nev.; one daughter, Mrs. Davis (Louise) Packard of Milwaukee, Ore.; six brothers, Paul, Eric and Gary of Lebanon, Ore., Walter of Wichita, Ks., Alford of Los Angeles, Calif., Emmet of Lincoln, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Otto (Sadie) Ziemke of Redmond, Ore., and Mrs. Geo. (Irene) Reetz of Waco, Nebr; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on March 1st at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Albany, Ore., with interment in Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens at Albany. Chester Herald, unknown date
