GEORGE W. MCDANIEL DEAD George W. McDaniel, of Alpine, died on Monday November 9th, and was buried from the Alpine Meeting House on Wednesday. The cause of death was a fall from a horse which occurred about two week ago, and which aggravated a hurt sustained nearly two years ago. George Washington McDaniel was born July 25, 1884. When his parents located in Alpine, there were but six or seven families in the place. He was then eight years old; and herded the sheep, helped fight the crickets,, and shared the life and hardships of the early pioneers. Bishop Vance presided over the funeral services on Wednesday; they speakers were John Devy, Patriarch Moore and others.
