Born February 14th 1874 to Samuel Wesley Atkins and Sarah F "sally" Brummet Atkinson in Blount County Tennessee. james Bedfords Draft card states Elisha was born in Butlers landing, a place not far from Celina Tn. 1. Dora Lee Atkinson 1871-1949 2.W.A Atkins 1878 -Unknown 3.Mary Atkins 1871-1900 (Murdered) 4.Sam Thomas Atkins 1885-1959 5.Laura (Lovie) Atkins Hammonds ( hammons?) 1885-1959 6. 6.Eva Atkinson 1890-Unknown _______________________________________________________ He married Nellie Florence Dyer Atkins on August 18, 1895 in Clay county Tennessee. Father of Seven Boys and two girls . The Atkins family moved from Celina TN in 1919 to settle in Tombean Texas where they arrived on September 11, 1919, later moving to Anna Texas. In Texas I notice they started going by Atkins instead of former name Atkinson.In 1926, 1927 He would lose two of his children to disease and violent Mishap. Elisha Joe died on May 14, 1939 and was Buried In Van Alstyne cemetery. He was a farmer by Occupation, his nickname was also Titus. Elisha was about 5 foot 10 and hand Black hair and Brown eyes according to his 1918 WWI Draft card.
