Eva Fay Shoemaker Pfeiffer 09 September 1924 - 04 December 2012 ~`~ * ~`~ Eva Fay Pfeiffer Eva Fay Pfeiffer, age 88, of New Braunfels, passed away Tuesday December 4, 2012. She was born September 9, 1924 in Galena, Kansas to William and Faye (LaTurner) Shoemaker. She married Lawrence H. Pfeiffer January 4, 1948. She lived on the Pfeiffer Ranch for 64 years. She had a great love of painting ceramics and sewing. Eva spent many hours with her friends every week at the Senior Citizens Center making beautiful ceramics figurines and she spent countless hours sewing clothes for her family to save money so more things could be bought for the ranch. Eva was a very thrifty and crafty person and loved her family unconditionally. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Pfeiffer Kilgore and husband Kent of New Braunfels; sister, Darlene Shoemaker of Jacksonville, Florida; 3 grandchildren, Levi Kilgore and wife Kayla, Tanis Kilgore, and Hunter Moeller; 4 great grandchildren, Katrina, April, Victoria, and Liam; and very close friend, Carrie Stimson. She was preceded in death by her husband and 3 children, Larry Gene Pfeiffer, Sherry Lynn Pfeiffer and Roger Alan Pfeiffer. The funeral service will be conducted at 9:30 AM Friday December 7, 2012 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels. Visitation will begin at 8:00 AM Friday and continue until service time. Interment will follow at Comal Cemetery in New Braunfels. Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. He was born January 4th, 1949 in New Braunfels to Lawrence Hilmar Pfeiffer and Eva Fay (Shoemaker) Pfeiffer. He was raised on the Historic Pfeiffer Ranch near Gruene. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1967 where he belonged to the FFA and showed Hereford Cattle at the Comal County Fair each year. He also graduated from Texas State University with a Degree in History Minoring in Government. He retired from Grimes County Title, Inc. in Navasota, Tx. Larry was a member of the New Braunfels Rail Road Museum and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He had a great love of Horses and riding. He also enjoyed taking photographs of Trains as they passed by. Larry was a History Buff and could recite any and all past history events that you could think of. He will be missed by All. Survivors include his mother, Eva Pfeiffer, Sisters Shirley Pfeiffer Kilgore and Husband Kent and Carrie Stimson, Niece Tanis Kilgore and Nephews Levi Kilgore and Hunter Moeller. Visitation will be at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels on Friday September 28th from 4:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30a.m. Saturday September 29, 2012 at the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels.
