DOLLAR BAY - Elsie E. Cole, 93, a resident of Dollar Bay, went to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, Jan. 2, 2013, at her home following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Noah Robinson. Together, they owned and operated Robinson's Nursery outside of Houghton. Elsie loved gardening and raising gladiolus, which was one of her favorite flowers. She and Noah planted several thousand bulbs by hand annually. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Jane Brogdon; one brother, Lee Brogdon; twin sisters, Emma Smith and Myrtle Jane Peterman; and several nieces and nephews. Elsie is survived by her husband, LeRoy "Red" Cole of Dollar Bay; her step-sons, Jeffery Cole of Laurium and Steven Cole of Lansing; step-granddaughter, Kimberly Cole of Tampa, Fla.; step-grandson, James Cole of Laurium. Elsie was a long-time member of Bethany Baptist Church in Dollar Bay. burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.
