Bio

Alvin F. Uptmor of 600 Avenue G in Lacy-Lakeview died Friday at a local hospital. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. today, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Rev. Angelo Bertini officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Uptmor was born in McLennan County. Survivors include his wife, Gail Miller Uptmor of Lacy-Lakeview; four daughters, Maxine Sailor of Bastrop, Kathy Payne of Paige, Brenda McCarty of Dallas and Barbara Uptmor of Dallas; a step-daughter, Robin Dawson of Waco; five sons, Jerry Uptmor of Victoria, Richard Uptmor of Refugio, John Uptmor of Dallas, Grant Uptmor of San Jose, Calif., and Mark Uptmor of Bastrop; a stepson, Steve Dawson of Waco; a sister, Lillian Beckham of Waco; two brothers, Jody Uptmor of Hallsburg and A.J. Uptmor of China Spring; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Bellmead Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Waco Tribune Herald, August 20, 1988
