Cloud County Cemetery Book, Volume 4, page 135 ********************************************** Glasco Sun, July 25, 1968, page 1: James Fletcher Funeral Here Wednesday James Lloyd Fletcher was born on a farm near Glasco June 16, 1889. He was the youngest of seven children of James and Josephine Pilcher Fletcher. He attended the local grade and high schools and went to the Kansas City Electrical College. He was employed by Standard Oil in Wichita and over a thirty year period served in various capacities for the City of Glasco and Superintendent of the Light and Water Dept., City Clerk and Councilman. He was a member of the Glasco School Board for a number of years and was Past Master of the Masonic Lodge and attended the Presbyterian Church when it was represented here. He loved music, and during his lifetime sang with various local groups which were much in demand for school and social functions. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Harmoine Fletcher, and three daughters, Marjorie Fletcher of Wichita, Mrs. June Oliver, Victoria, Tex.; and Betty Fletcher, Kansas City, Mo. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Dean Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Dean Donner. Pallbearers were Ray Bell, Oliver Clark, Dwaine Smejkal, Jean Noel, Leland Chapin, and Chet Loe. Music was furnished by Virginia Halderson, organist; and Marietta Donner and Elizabeth Lee Chestnut, vocalists. Interment was at the Glasco Cemetery.
