Bio

Private Hart's Arkansas Battery Enlisted June 16, 1862, at Warren, Arkansas. Captured at Fort Hindman, Arkansas Post, Arkansas, on January 11, 1863. Died while a prisoner of war, at the City General Hospital in St. Louis, where he had been admitted on January 26, 1863, with complaints of typhoid fever. Cause of death listed as chronic diarrhea. Son of John and Lucinda R. "Lucy Martin. Married Wincie Cynthia Frances Goodwin in 1847, in Newton County, Mississippi. He had six children by the time he was 28.
