The Banner-Press (David City, Nebraska) 22 Feb 1962, Thu Page 7 Services Held For Mrs. Mary Eckstein Funeral services for Mrs. Mary A. Eckstein, 86, were conducted on Sunday, Feb.11, at the ZCBJ Hall in Linwood. She died at the David City hospital Feb. 8 after an illness of about two weeks. Dr. John E. Filinger officiated at the service. Burial was in the Linwood National Cemetery. Mrs. Eckstein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hladky, was born Jan. 9, 1876 in Moravia. She came to this country with her parents at the age of seven. On Feb. 22, 1897, she was married to Frank Eckstein at Abie. Five children were born to them. The family lived on farms near Morse Bluff and Linwood until 1940 when they retired and moved to Linwood. The past six years Mrs. Eckstein had resided at Gray's Nursing Home in David City. Survivors include one daughter, Clara Stritecky, Linwood; four sons, Raymond, Colome, S.D., Adolph, Scio, Ore., Frank, Jr., North Bend, and Edward, Lincoln; three brothers, Louis Hladky, Schuyler, John Hladky, Abie, and Frank Hladky, Central City; two sisters, Anna Sloup, Seward, and Sophia Rolene, Brainard; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, two brothers, Anton and Joe; and an infant sister.
