The Schuyler Sun (Schuyler, Nebraska) 15 Dec 1949, Thu Page 11 Linwood Resident Died Wednesday Frank Eckstein, 80, died at his home in Linwood Wednesday morning, Dec. 7, following an illness of four months. The son of Wolfgang and Ann Mares Eckstein, Mr. Eckstein was born near Morse Bluff Sept. 15, 1869. He and Marie Hladky were married at Abie in 1897. After their marriage, they farmed near Linwood until 1940 where they retired and moved to town. The widow and the following survive: Raymond [Eckstein], and Clara, Mrs. John Stritecky, both of Colome, S.D.; Adolph, of Izee, Ore.; Frank of Morse Bluff; and Edward of Lincoln; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Steinbach of Prague, Mrs. Philomena Hladky of North Bend, and Mrs. Barbara Bures of Dwight; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Rev. B.A. Filipi of Clarkson officiated at the funeral services held at the Z.C.B.J. hall in Linwood Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial was made in the National cemetery at Linwood.
