Bio
Funeral services for Edwin Victor Hudec, 84, of Rosenberg, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg, with the Rev. Dan Warden officiating the services. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2004, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Edwin was born Dec. 22, 1919 to Frank and Frances Shumbera Hudec in Weimar, and passed away April 17, 2004 in Richmond. He moved his family from Weimar to Rosenberg in 1957, and began his employment with Fort Bend County Precinct 1. He retired as a heavy equipment operator for the county in 1985. After his retirement, he enjoyed providing fresh vegetables from his garden for the entire family. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Frances Hudec; sister, Annie Hudec Janecka; and brothers, Bill Hudec and Jerry Hudec. Edwin is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Adela Cernoch Hudec; daughters, Frances Lycka and husband, CJ, of Angleton, and Gladys Dibala and husband, Tom, of Rosenberg; son, Dennis Hudec and wife, Jeannette, of Rosenberg; grandchildren, Angela and Pat Hammond, Philip and Deana Lycka, Chuck and Lisa Dibala, Bill and Jodi Dibala, Andrew Dibala, Amanda Hudec, Allison Hudec, and Ashley and Jason McAnally. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Trenton Lycka, Robyn Hammond, Riley Hammond, Dillon Hammond, Jarrett Hammond, Philip Brian Lycka, Jordan Lycka, Zachary Dibala, and Taylor McAnally; brother, Henry Hudec of Weimar; and numerous other relatives and friends.
