Hudec Jerlyn Coleman Jean Williams Joyce Hoke 9 grandchildren ________________ Funeral for Jerry Hudec Here July 10 Funeral services for Jerry Raymond Hudec,73,of Weimar,were held Wednesday,July 10,from St. Michael Catholic Church.Father John Bily officiated. Hudec,a retired farmer and county precinct worker,died July 7 at 5 p.m. in Hermann Hospital,Houston,of an abdominal aneurysm. Born October 2,1917,at Weimar,he was a son of Frank and Frances (Shumbera) Hudec.He attended Weimar Public School and after serving in World War II attended a GI school.He married Evelyn Janecka here on September 23,1940.He served in the Army Air Force from February 12,1943 until March 11,1946,including duty in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.He was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.In addition to farming,he worked for Colorado County Precinct 2 for 27 years as a heavy equipment operator. His family said of him:"In the past few years his primary joy was to go fishing and camping and spending time with his grandkids.When visiting with people,he always had a smile and something funny to say.He made your day a little brighter and your troubles a little less imposing."
