Bio

OBIT: Clara E. Myers, 91, died Saturday afternoon at a health care center in Hiawatha. She was born in White Cloud, Kansas. Mrs. Myers said her husband farmed in the Robinson, Kansas and the Highland, Kansas area for many years until retiring and moving to Hiawatha in 1965. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hiawatha, and a former member of the Vanderslice Chapter No. 452 O.E.S., Highland. Her husband, Jacques D. Myers, died in 1977. Surviving are a son, Keith A. Myers, Hiawatha; a daughter, Jean Schuerman, Erie, Pennsylvania; a brother, Orban Derrick Hiawatha; two sisters, Fannie Gladhart and Ethel Moore, both of Hiawatha; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, Hiawatha. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday at the Casselman-Meek Funeral Home, Hiawatha. St. Joseph News-Press, January 12, 1986
