Thomas Jefferson Hensley, the son of Rev. George W. and Mary Richardson Hensley was born March 21, 1866 in Douglas County, Illinois and departed this life March 4, 1949 at 3:20 p.m. at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 11 days. He was united in marriage on September 5, 1898 to Sarah Lane Walker at Darlington, Missouri. To this union were born two daughters and four sons. He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons, one having died in infancy and Voyle at the age of 16. He was converted at an early age and became a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. But later in life he foined the Nazarene Church. At the time of his death he was a member of the Nazarene Church at Roll, Oklahoma. He came to Oklahoma Territory in 1900 from Darlington, Missouri. In 1901 he filed on his farm in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, where he spent the remainder of his life. He leaves to mourn his passing two daughters, Nannie Lutz of Mound Valley, Kansas, Rosetta Boswell, of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and two sons, Guy Hensley, of Durham, Oklahoma, Landon Hensley of Crawford, Oklahoma; 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, John and George Hensley of Grant City, Missouri and Jim Hensley of Nebraska and a host of other relatives and friends. He was a faithful and loving father and grandfather and a good neighbor. Burial at Fairview Cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
