Bio
Guy Clifford Hensley, 82, of Rt. 1 Durham, was born July 12, 1901 in Thomas, Okla. to Thomas J. and Sarah Lane Hensley and passed from this life Wednesday, May 16, 1984 in the Baptist Medical Center of Oklahoma City. He came to the Clifford/Crawford/Durham area with his parents as a young child. On December 23, 1931 he was married to Erma May Gantz near Crawford. With the exception of three years spent in the service, he made his home in the Crawford/Durham area. He had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Durham for a number of years. Mr Hensley was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Reydon and the Eastern Star. Those who proceded him in death were his parents, one daughter, Karen, one brother, Voyle and one sister, Nannie Lutz. Survivors include his wife, Erma of the home; 3 daughters, Vondell Albright of Ft. Smith, Ark.; Winonia Hensley of Weatherford, Ok.; and Patricia Minjarez of Niceville, Fl.; 5 sons, Addie of Pampa, Tx.; Dale of Germany; Ronald of Durham; Quinlin of Elk City, and Glen of Cheyenne; 13 grandchildren;6 great grandchildren; one brother Landon Hensley of Durham, one sister, Rosetta Boswell of Cheyenne,and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 19, 1984 at 2:00 p.m. in the Durham Community Building with Ray Smart of Sayre and A.L. Martin of Crawford officiating. Interment followed in the Fairview Cemetery with short Masonic service, under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Pallbearers were Wayne Carey, Bob Barton, Charlie Hartley, Donnie Chappell, Wesley York and Bob Manhart. Honorary pallbearers were Lowell Malson, Willis Malson, Bill Raff, Bill Hughes, Fred Schmidt and Randall Calvert.
