Gene #48136821 ____________________________ Mrs. George Fiene (nee Pearl Yates), eldest daughter of William F and Fannie Yates, was born near Hamburg, Iowa. She died after on Jan. 2 to spend the winter in California, but shortly after arriving, she became ill, was hospitalized, then passed away. She graduated from Hamburg HS as valedictorian of the Class of 1904, later attending State Teacher's College at Cedar Falls. She taught three years in Iowa public schools. She married George H. Fiene of Nashua on June 1, 1907 and celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1957. They lived a time on a farm near Republic. They had three children: Wendell, Claude and Dorothy. She lived all her married life near Nashua. She was active in the Methodist Church in Nashua and Isabella Club as well as being a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are her husband George son Wendell of Huntington Park, CA daughter, Dorothy (Clark) Prudhon of Evansville, WI sisters: Naomi Todalen and Fannie Klein of Hamburg, and Willa Dancy of Los Angelses, CA five grandchildren two great grandchildren other relatives and friends She was preceded by her son, Clause in 1913. Her funeral was at the Methodist Church in Nashua on Jan. 31 with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
