She had been in her usual health the past few months and her condition had not been considered serious, and had been about her usual tasks that morning. Her daughter, living next door, was in the house at the time and called the doctor and another sister. Fannie Wilkerson, daughter of Benjamin O. and Isabelle Wilkerson, was born in Atchison County, MIssouri, August 8, 1864, and departed this life November 18, 1943, aged 79 years, 3 months and 10 days. When a small child she moved with her parents to a farm northwest of Hamburg, where with the exception of one year, she lived until 1936, when she moved to her late home in Hamburg. She was united in marriage to William F. Yates on January 8, 1884, who proceeded her in death on March 12, 1935. Those left to mourn her passing are her four daughters, Mrs. George Fiene of Nashua, Iowa; Mrs. C. M. Two grandsons are in the service of their country. Mrs. Yates became a member of the Methodist church many years ago and remained a fatithful member. Although unable to attend the services at the church of her choice, she was very active in many ways, and was superintendent of the West Mt. Olive Sunday School for many years.
