Garnett May Voyles, fifteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Voyles, 4201 Henderson street, passed away Monday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock after a serious illness of only two days. This lad was an exceptionally bright little fellow and was held in high esteem by classmates at school and the boys of his friendships. He had never united with any church, but several days ago in conversation with his mother, he asked her to describe the feelings of a converted person, this being explained he said, "Well I have been converted" and he now sleeps the sleep of the just. The funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the South Greenville Baptist church, with Rev. Raney officiating, after the services the body will be laid to rest in East Mount Cemetery. The active pallbearers will be: R. M. Chapman, T. W. Thompson, W. E. Hafner, H. L. McLow, A. P. Campbell, and C. G. Wilson The honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. P. A. Peak, N. E. Peak, Louis Andrews, J. D. Thomas, J. O. Hayter, William McKinney.
