Obituary in the Lufkin Paper on October 17, 2004 for Pearl Dickson Services for Pearl Dickson, 83, of Lufkin, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring. Interment will follow in the Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring. Pearl was born August 20, 1921, in Williamson County, Texas, the daughter of the late Effie Pearl and C. B. Swindle. She passed away Thursday, October 14, 2004, following a lengthy illness. Pearl was married to the love of her life, Bill Dickson, for 53 years. They lived in Abilene until 1958, when they moved to Big Spring. Bill passed away in 1994. In 2002, Pearl moved to Lufkin to live with her daughter, and had been a resident of Southland Health Care Center since March of this year. She was a homemaker, and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Big Spring. Survivors include her daughter, Billie Averitt of Lufkin; sisters, Geneva Attaway of Elwood, Illinois and Virginia Frierson of Garland; brothers, Ed Swindle of Killeen and Dr. Bill Swindle of Stephenville; grandson, Jeremy Heck of Houston; great grandchild, Simone of Houston; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Dickson, in 1994; daughter, Sherry Heck in 2001; son-in-law, Don Averitt in 2000; and brother, Ted Swindle in 2002. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, directors.
