Bio

Dale A. Johnson, 52, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, in Riverside, Calif., following an automobile accident on Oct. 11. Services are pending. Inurnment will be at the Aurora Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hamilton Community Foundation. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Dale Albert Johnson, the son of Maynard and Eleanora (Gorgen) Johnson, was born in Grand Island, Neb., on Oct. 20, 1959 and passed away in Riverside, Calif., on Oct. 13, 2012, at the age of 52. Dale graduated from Hampton High School in 1978 and from Hastings Tech in Nebraska. He later attended UNO and went on to graduate from the University of Miami in 1991 with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Dale moved to Southern California in 1994, where he worked in the auto industry and other related jobs until his automobile accident occurred. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors of the immediate family include his two brothers, Lyndon (Shelli) Johnson of Topeka, Kan., and Lyle (Rosalinda) Johnson of Lincoln; nephews and niece; William, Dylan and Hannah Johnson of Topeka and Jacob Johnson of Lincoln; aunts, June Johnson of Aurora, Jeri Roshone of Valentine and Betty Gorgen of Kearney. Other survivors include very close family friends in California, Walter and Sheila Kurczynski and their children and California friends, Kathleen, Bill, Ed and Jody. Dale also had many friends that he kept in touch with locally in Nebraska. Published in The Grand Island Independent on October 23, 2012
