U.S. ARMY Andrew Maynard "Maynard" Johnson, the son of Albert and Emma (Ekburg) Johnson, was born on a farm near Hordville, Nebraska in 1921 and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on September 30, 2012. Maynard graduated from Hordville High School. He served in U.S. Army during World War II as a radio operator in the China/Burma/India theatre. Maynard was a rural letter carrier in the Hordville-Hampton area for 38 years. Maynard married Eleanora Gorgen on June 7, 1953 at Central City. Eleanora passed away on January 22, 2012. Maynard was a 64 year member of the Lone Tree Lodge #36, AF & AM. Maynard was preceded in death by: parents; wife, Eleanora Johnson, brothers, Rueben and Morris Johnson and sister, Ellen Benson. Survivors are: sons and daughters-in-law, Lyndon (Shelli) Johnson of Topeka, KS., Lyle (Rosalinda) Johnson of Lincoln, NE. and Dale Johnson of Anaheim, CA.; grandchildren, Jacob, William, Dylan and Hannah; sisters-in-law, June Johnson of Aurora, NE. and Jeri Roshone of Valentine, NE. Inurnment was in the Aurora Cemetery, Aurora, NE.
