Sister Mary Agnes Steuter, 84, a member of the Franciscan sisters of Christian Charity, died Saturday, March 31, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Convent Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gerald Walker, O.F.M. Cap. and burial will follow in Holy Family Convent Cemetery. The former Rose Steuter was born May 22, 1899, at Monterey, Nebraska, daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Glaha Steuter. She entered the Order in 1916 and professed her vows in 1919. Sister Steuter received her B.A. Degree at Holy Family College with a major in Education and a minor in English. She also had a Michigan Life Certificate. Sister has taught at Manistique, Petoskey, Iron Wood, Escanaba, Oconto Falls, St. Michaels of Whitelaw, Menominie, Wis., Cross Village, Michigan, Ayrshire, Iowa, San Miguel and Cowlic, San Jose, Pisenimo, Arizona, Lindsay and West Point, Nebraska. Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; four sisters, Sister Mary Clare Steuter of Holy Family Convent, Mrs. Cresentia Halbur of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Mrs. Catherine Schueth of West Point, Nebraska, and Mrs. Miriam Henson of Bakersfield, Calif., and a niece, Mrs. Anton Bracht of West Point, Nebraska. Friends may call at Holy Family convent, Manitowoc, 7:30 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Monday evening where a prayer service will be at 7 o'clock.
