Born October 13, 1870 in house #3, Vesce, the son of Martin and Antonia Rezac. Married Antonia Sabatka on February 25, 1895 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Abie, Nebr. '''''''' The Peoples Banner (David City, Nebr.), April 24, 1941, p. 4, col. 3 MARTIN JOSEPH REZAC Martin Joseph Rezac, 70, died at his farm home a mile south-east of Linwood, Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 following an illness of six months duration. Mr. Rezac was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Rezac. He was born in Bohemia, October 1, 1870. At the age of four years he came to the United States with his parents, who homesteaded two miles south of Linwood. His remaining years were spent in the Linwood vicinity where he engaged in farming. Mr. Rezac conducted a lumber and livestock business in Linwood 10 years. Mr. Rezac united in marriage with Miss Antonia Sabatka, February 24, 1895 in the Abie Catholic church. At the time of his death, Mr. Rezac was a member of the board of supervisors of Butler county. He served as a member of his local school board for 18 years. He was a member of the Z. C. B. J. lodge. The widow and the following children survive: Emil and Leonard, both of Linwood; Edward of Omaha and Anna, wife of Dr. A. W. Johannes of Schuyler. Two brothers, Joseph Rezac of Gregory, South Dakota, and Anton Rezac of David City, a sister, Mrs. Joseph Kriz of Brainard, and four grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held in the Z. C. B. J. hall in Linwood, Friday afternoon at two o'clock. Pallbearers were Emil Walla, Joseph Cernusak, John Kucera, Anton Krofta, Joseph Mensik and Frank Johannes.
